There are three benefits and allowances that parents can receive from the Dutch government when raising a child. These are:
- Children’s allowance: meant to help cover the costs of raising children
- Child benefit: meant to help cover costs such as clothing, food and school expenses
- Childcare benefit: meant to help cover the costs for childcare for working parents
