Child allowance

There are three benefits and allowances that parents can receive from the Dutch government when raising a child. These are:

  • Children’s allowance: meant to help cover the costs of raising children
  • Child benefit: meant to help cover costs such as clothing, food and school expenses
  • Childcare benefit: meant to help cover the costs for childcare for working parents

These benefits and allowances have their own requirements for eligibility. Read more about these benefits, allowance and their requirements.
