• Groninger Museum – The city's largest museum, featuring contemporary and modern art, fashion, design, and changing international exhibitions.
• Museum aan de A (formerly the Noordelijk Scheepvaartmuseum) – A museum dedicated to the history of the city and province of Groningen, including its maritime heritage. (Please note that the museum is currently closed for renovation.)
• University Museum – The University of Groningen's museum, showcasing scientific instruments, natural history specimens, and interactive exhibitions on science and research.
• Storyworld – The Dutch museum for comics, animation, and games, where visitors can explore the art of storytelling through interactive exhibitions and original artwork.

• SPOT - Stadsschouwburg and Oosterpoort, the main theatre venues with a joint website. They host a varied programme of theatre, dance and music performances. Here you can find the offering suitable for non-Dutch speakers.
• NITE - Home base of the Northern Dutch Theatre group (NNT) and contemporary dance company Club Guy & Roni. All performances are subtitled and / or accessible to English speakers.
• Forum - A multidisciplinary cultural centre, organising films, workshops, talks, festivals, children's activities and much more at all of their locations in the city of Groningen. 
• Martiniplaza - A large theatre with varied offering including cabaret, musical, dance, sport and family-friendly performances.
• Aa-theater - A small local theatre for Groningen-based theatre.

• Kunstpunt Groningen - Centre for Visual Art. You can also loan pieces from their large library of local contemporary art.
• NP3 - platform for contemporary art over three locations in the city.
• SIGN gallery - interdisciplinary platform for contemporary experimental art.
• Noorderlicht - photographic gallery, hosts an annual international photo festival and the World Press photo exhibition.
• Lichtzone - photographic collective and gallery.
• Ann’s Art - connection between artists and buyers.
• Pictura - provides space for artists and performing arts.

Groningen has a vibrant live music scene, with hundreds of venues hosting concerts and club nights throughout the year. Here are some of the city's best-known music venues:

• Vera – A legendary live music venue known for showcasing emerging talent before they became internationally famous. Vera also has its own screen-printing studio, where unique posters are created for every concert. Expect indie, rock, alternative music, and regular dance nights.
• Simplon Poppodium – An intimate music venue with a diverse programme, best known for hip-hop, electronic music, dance, and performances by up-and-coming artists.
• SPOT Groningen (De Oosterpoort & Stadsschouwburg) – Groningen's largest performing arts organisation, hosting concerts by internationally renowned artists across a wide range of genres, as well as theatre, dance, and classical music.
• FIXY - A popular nightclub and electronic music venue, known for its techno, house, and other electronic music events.
